Allen Distribution growing with new locations

Third-party logistics company Allen Distribution is the latest to move into the Carlisle Pike area between Mechanicsburg and Carlisle and is growing past that addition. The South Middleton Township-based company leased the 180,333-square-foot, rail-served building at 34 Dauphin Drive in Silver Spring Township and began moving in around Memorial Day, said Chuck McCreary, manager of sales and marketing at the company. The building is nearly full now, he said. The company also is building a 500,000-square-foot building on its campus near Carlisle.  Allen Distribution already has locations in the Carlisle area, the York area and the Lehigh Valley. The company has added employees to fill those locations, though McCreary said he didn’t know how many. “It’s a good company to work for with good people working here, and when you put those things together, it makes it easy to sell,” he said.

The building Allen is moving into in Silver Spring Township just completed a six-month rehabilitation, including sprinkler, lighting and other renovations. The property is on 10.64 acres and has 3,200 square feet of office space, 24-foot ceilings, 20 dock positions and 10 rear rail doors, according to Woodmont Industrial Partners, a New Jersey-based real estate development and management firm. The company handled the building’s rehabilitation.
