Back to list April 27, 2015 Harrisburg-Carlisle building permits up 40 percent through Q1 Residential building activity has been strong so far this year in the Harrisburg-Carlisle area. The U.S. Census Bureau is reporting 288 residential permits in the area through March, which is up about 40 percent compared to permits through March 2014. And the value of those permits is up nearly 20 percent at $51.4 million, according to the Census. The same cannot be said of the Lancaster County, Lebanon County and York-Hanover areas, where permit reporting has been sluggish so far. The Census data for March shows just 16 permits for Lancaster County, 19 for Lebanon County and 16 for York-Hanover. The full article from the Central Penn Business Journal can be found here.
