Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory

Total Investment:
$2.3 million

Funding Program: Cumberland Small Business Fund

Program Used:
Cumberland Small Business Fund

Project Description:
In October 2015, Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC) closed on a $100,000 Cumberland Small Business Fund loan to Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory.

The loan was to fund the expansion of a business that has been in Carlisle since 1907. Hoffman opened at their new facility at 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA on October 5, 2015.

The new building is a much larger facility with modern conveniences, over 200 parking spaces, over 12,000 square feet of space and an onsite crematory with witness room.

This expansion created 3 new jobs and over $2.3 million in new capital investment.

“We are delighted to offer loan services to a business that has been part of our community for over 100 years,” said Jonathan Bowser, CAEDC CEO. “Financing options like the Cumberland Small Business Fund can make expansions and projects such as this possible.”
