In 2019, CAEDC awarded over $500,000 in Tourism Product Development Grants. Tourism Product Development comprises those experiences, activities, and products that are specifically provided for the visitor and community.

These grants are designed to:

  1. Increase the number of products, experiences, and services available for visitors and residents.
  2. Grow the number of visits, length of stay and spending by visitors.
  3. Improve the profitability of tourism businesses.
  4. Keep Cumberland Valley competitive with other destinations.

Success Stories

Molly Pitcher Brewing Company, Carlisle, received a $69,048 Tourism Product Development Grant from CAEDC to help install a custom wooden pergola, creating an esthetically-pleasing and tasteful outdoor space for customers to enjoy for most throughout most of the year.

Midway Bowling Center, Carlisle, received a $100,000 Tourism Product Development Grant from CAEDC to assist with the installation of a large outdoor patio featuring a sand volleyball court, four bocce courts, seating for a minimum of 100 guests, fire pits, outdoor lighting and heaters, planters and a mural.

Desperate Times Brewery, Carlisle, received a $7,100 Tourism Product Development Grant from CAEDC to help create an outdoor beer garden that would offer a large, comfortable seating area open from spring through fall.
