Click baits, fake news, hundreds of media sources…In an era of 24/7 news, how can you develop your news consumer savvy to make the best information choices?

Join local journalists from PennLive.com/The Patriot-News, ABC27, and WITF for a free Media Town Hall, “A Survivor’s Guide to the News: Consuming What’s Good for You, Avoiding What’s Bad and Knowing the Difference.”

Offered as part of the Messiah College Department of Communication’s CultureConnect series, the event kicks off with Carolyn Blatchley, Executive Director of the Cumberland County Library System, offering a glimpse into how libraries work with their communities to understand news consumption, bias, and smart choices. Mark Cohen, President of the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association, will then moderate a panel of industry experts that includes media executives and journalists from PennLive.com/The Patriot-News, WITF, ABC27 and Messiah College. The evening wraps up with an panelist-audience question and answer session, followed by a reception.
