Capital Area Transit (CAT) is conducting a comprehensive assessment of its existing transit service and evaluating the current and future needs of transit in the region. This study is the first of its type in CAT’s 45-year history. The study comes at an important time for CAT. With an immediate need to stabilize its operating budget and improve ridership, CAT must rethink the way transit services are provided and look for new ways to provide efficient and effective public transit.
CAT invites you to attend a special stakeholder meeting in which they will discuss the current challenges and opportunities facing CAT. As part of this effort, they have developed an interactive workshop to place you in charge of CAT. The interactive workshop is a tool designed to encourage you and your fellow stakeholders to work through the trade-offs associated with designing public transit services and identify a public transit system that best meets the community’s needs. With other stakeholders, you will work together to reach consensus on how the public transit services at CAT should work, including where the bus should go and how frequently it should operate within real financial limitations.
Each session will accommodate 30 individuals. To register your attendance, please click on the link to the session that best fits your schedule.
