President Laurie A. Carter joined Shippensburg University as its seventeenth president in 2017 with a clear focus on student success. Prior to Shippensburg, she served as executive vice president and university counsel for Eastern Kentucky University. She previously was vice president for Arts Education at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and held a variety of positions with progressive responsibilities during her twenty-five year career at The Juilliard School.
