CAEDC Launched New “Keep it off the Map” Tourism Campaign

Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC) is excited to announce our new tourism advertising campaign. Through continued research and strategic planning with BCF, our advertising agency, we are launching a fun new concept to inspire travel. We are inviting those looking to explore a new destination to help us “Keep Cumberland Valley Off the Map.”

This concept was born out of the idea that the “Cumberland Valley” name is not a familiar one. This is true for not only potential visitors, but also locals and current visitors to the Valley’s communities. The result is a lack of awareness of the destination and its offerings.

To overcome this challenge, we are embracing the fact that you literally won’t find “Cumberland Valley” on the map and inviting those to find unique travel experiences and cheekily keep it to themselves. The campaign will be targeted to those in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia from April-August, and will highlight hiking, fishing, breweries, downtowns and automotive experiences. A designated landing page has been created for the campaign, www.KeepCVSecret.com.

Ads will be running mainly on digital platforms including TripAdvisor and Facebook. There will also be videos and posters displayed at four metro stations in D.C.
