Back to list September 23, 2013 CAEDC Senior Leadership Announcement CARLISLE, PA (September 23, 2013) – Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC) announces two senior staff appointments. Jonathan Bowser, Director of Economic Development and Corporate VP, has been appointed CEO of CAEDC. In this role, Jonathan will oversee all business development, sales and fundraising activities for the corporation which is charged with facilitating economic development and a strong business climate for Cumberland County and South Central PA. Jonathan is also the liaison to the Cumberland County Industrial Development Authority, the County’s tax-exempt financing arm. Shireen Farr, Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau Tourism Director and Corporate VP, has been named COO of CAEDC. Shireen will oversee finance, administration, operations, marketing and strategic planning activities in her new role. Jonathan and Shireen, both report to the CAEDC Board of Directors, comprised of twelve volunteer at-large industry professionals and the three elected Cumberland County Commissioners. Incorporated in 2005, CAEDC operates with a full-time staff of twelve seasoned professionals who are focused on economic development activities that focus on visitor attraction promoting Cumberland Valley as a travel destination, business retention, business expansion and development.“The Board of Directors remains focused and committed to the objectives of the CAEDC mission and have every reason to believe that Jonathan and Shireen will do a first-class job of continuing to grow the organization, gain new efficiencies and enhance return on investment with this structural change.
