Back to list September 29, 2015 CAEDC welcomes Goodman Birtcher The ceremonial moving of dirt at Goodman Birtcher Goodman Birtcher announced plans to purchase the Allen Road site in 2013. Prior to Goodman’s interest, the property sat vacant for approximately 10 years, as it was being marketed as a retail pad due to its close proximity to 1-81. This was a very complex project for several reasons that include; rezoning of the site, property situated in four municipalities, and concerns from community members on the saturation of distribution centers in Cumberland County and more specifically, Carlisle at Exit 44, Allen Road. After several years of meetings with the municipalities and other key stakeholders on the rezoning request and land development plan, Goodman Birtcher was able to move forward in the Summer of 2015. This project will have significant impact in the region with close to $70 million in capital investment, close to a $1 million in real estate taxes, and over 600 new jobs. Goodman Birtcher is committed to this region and we are pleased to have them apart of our Cumberland Valley community. Goodman is a global commercial and industrial property group that owns, develops and manages various commercial and industrial properties and projects. They are the 2nd largest industrial developer in the world with more than 10 billion currently in their development pipeline and operate out of 16 countries and 33 offices worldwide. At CAEDC, we would like to welcome Goodman Birtcher to the Cumberland Valley and we look forward to a continued relationship in the future. -Jonathan Bowser, CAEDC CEO
