Cumberland County Economic Development (CCED) and the West Shore Chamber of Commerce have agreed to a dynamic partnership in the delivery of economic development services. This powerful alliance will guarantee businesses greater accessibility and awareness of the newest economic development tools as well as services. “This partnership comes at the perfect time. The economy has struggled to recover and as a result Cumberland County’s unemployment rate has doubled in the past twelve months. In addition, CCED has been able to grow and expand its economic development services. This partnership will help us deliver those new services faster to the West Shore business community thus creating more economic development and job opportunities“, said Omar Shute, CCED Executive Director. “The West Shore Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to offer this valuable resource to our members, and are excited to partner with CCED on this initiative”, said Kathleen Mangan, West Shore Chamber President & CEO. One of CCED’s main objectives is to assist businesses with economic development financing through its wide array of low interest loan programs including Small Business First and the SBA 504 program.
