CCED Facilitates $1.1 Million AHEC Grant

As part of our continuing efforts to boost economic activity within Cumberland County, we are proud to collaborate with The Army Heritage Center Foundation to announce the start of an infrastructure and site improvements construction project to support current needs and future expansion of the Visitor and Education Center at USAHEC. $1.1 Million for the project comes from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which is administered through CCED and the Cumberland County Industrial Development Authority.

The infrastructure project will include the construction of an additional parking lot to accommodate visitors, completion of a storm water management system to protect the nearby LeTort Spring Run, and the creation of event plazas. The event plazas will also incorporate Soldiers walk, an ongoing foundation program that commemorates Soldiers and their Families through engraved bricks and pavers. The construction, to be completed by R.S. Mowery & Sons, Inc. of Mechanicsburg, will take approximately 90 days.

For more information on the RACP Grants or how we can help with your project, please contact our offices at (717) 240-7180.
