This award comes as recognition of the superb work performed by CCED during 2010. This award is presented to the organization that provided the best display of innovation, implementation, and overall economic impact. During 2010, CCED was able to attract more than $65 million in private sector investment into its economy by working with a variety of companies including Office Depot, Alacer Corporation, American Mint, Campus Door, Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN), and many others. These projects not only generated further investment around the many communities that were impacted but also resulted in the creation and retention of hundreds of jobs. Omar Shute, CCED Executive Director said, “We are very humbled and honored to receive this award. However, our work is not done and we continue to be committed to achieving great results on behalf of Cumberland County and its constituency.” “The Board of Commissioners is delighted to see CCED receive this very prestigious award,” said Gary Eichelberger, Chairman of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners. “Cumberland County has committed to building a results-driven, pace setting economic development operation to help ensure our future economic health.
