Back to list July 01, 2015 Cumberland County strongest in midstate for housing growth Cumberland County, the commonwealth’s fastest-growing county since the 2010 Census, has seen steady housing growth to coincide with that population growth, according to the latest housing estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. Since April 2010, Cumberland County has grown its housing stock by 3 percent to 102,907, as of July 1, 2014. The county’s population grew by 3.5 percent over that span, according to the Census. By comparison, the commonwealth’s population increased by less than 1 percent to nearly 12.8 million. And housing units grew by 0.4 percent to about 5.6 million.
