East Pennsboro Township in partnership with Cumberland Area Economic Development Corp. Monday announced that Urban Land Institute Philadelphia is administering a two-day study this week on the revitalization and redevelopment of the village of West Fairview. The township said ULI Philadelphia will complete a Technical Assistance Panel Thursday and Friday to study the potential for revitalization. Panels bring together regional ULI members to address land use or development questions through a two-day workshop. The panel will work in partnership with a local working committee of stakeholders to identify opportunities for the village. The panel will focus recommendations on strategies for redevelopment of existing housing, increased commercial and tourism use and developing a mixed-use, walkable community. Township commissioners will use the finished panel report to guide further revitalization and redevelopment in the West Fairview area. The complete document will be available through ULI this spring.
