Hotel Carlisle Up for Sale

CUMBERLAND VALLEY, PA (November 18, 2013) – Hotel Carlisle has engaged CAEDC to assist the current owners in the sale of the property. CAEDC has been engaged to assist in determining the highest and best use for the site, secure all entitlements based on the desired zoning for development or redevelopment; and identify and implement funding and incentive strategies; and engage a realtor for the sale of the subject property. “CAEDC has had a vested interest in the site for quite some time. The current owners are ready to sell and we do not want to see this property become blighted. We want to be proactive in the redevelopment efforts of this site, whether it would remain as a hotel and conference center or be redeveloped as another use,” said Jonathan Bowser, CAEDC CEO. ” We will be working with real estate professionals to determine the highest and best use for the site, and attracting new developers based on that analysis. At one time, Hotel Carlisle was a prominent hotel property in Cumberland Valley and over the years, the aging infrastructure, rising costs of doing business and the development around the site has made it difficult to attract meetings and overnight travelers. We feel that this is an ideal site for potential other uses with great access to the PA Turnpike and Interstate 81, but we are not going to rule out the use of another hotel.”

The hotel has plans to remain open until the sale is final. CAEDC will also explore federal and state financing & incentive programs to attract new enterprise to the site.
