Hotel Occupancy With hotel room demand down 41% year-to-date through November and a 19% drop in the average daily room rate (ADR), PA’s hotel room revenues were down $2.0 billion for the year through November, or were less than half (down 52%) that of 2019. Traveler Spending Since the pandemic began, PA’s year-to-date loss of traveler spending totaled nearly $17.1 billion through November, exacerbating the large job losses seen in all segments of the state’s leisure and hospitality industry. Leisure & Hospitality Industry Employment Employment in PA’s Leisure & Hospitality industry totaled 428,800 in November – down 134,200, or 24% below the November 2019 employment level, the largest drop of any industry.
