Back to list January 07, 2021 Pennsylvania Travel Indicators for November 2020 The State Tourism Office shared Pennsylvania Travel Industry Indicators for November 2020. Hotel Occupancy With hotel room demand down 41% year-to-date through November and a 19% drop in the average daily room rate (ADR), PA’s hotel room revenues were down $2.0 billion for the year through November, or were less than half (down 52%) that of 2019. Traveler Spending Since the pandemic began, PA’s year-to-date loss of traveler spending totaled nearly $17.1 billion through November, exacerbating the large job losses seen in all segments of the state’s leisure and hospitality industry. Leisure & Hospitality Industry Employment Employment in PA’s Leisure & Hospitality industry totaled 428,800 in November – down 134,200, or 24% below the November 2019 employment level, the largest drop of any industry.
