Back to list October 10, 2014 Report: Carlisle named the 3rd fastest growing municipality in Pennsylvania Carlisle borough is the state’s third fastest-growing municipality, according to a study by consumer advocacy website, NerdWallet. NerdWallet evaluated 88 cities, boroughs and census-designated places in Pennsylvania for population, employment and income growth, according to a news release issued by the office of Carlisle Mayor Tim Scott. Employment in Carlisle increased 12.6 percent between 2009 and 2012, the highest of any municipality in the top ten, according to the release. During the same time period, the borough experienced a 7.2 percent growth in median income, according to the study. “Carlisle is a Borough on the move and clearly poised for further growth and progress,” Scott said in the release.
