Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF)

PA DCED/CFA and PennDOT

Uses
Roads/streets, streetscape, sidewalks, lighting, transit and rail, airport and port facilities.

Additional Info
PennDOT funds require agency decisions. DCED funds require Commonwealth Financing Authority approval.

Amounts
Up to $3 million; 30% match required

Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP)

PA Office of Budget

Uses
Site preparation, equipment purchase and installation, and building construction costs.

Additional Info
Itemization in capital budget bill. Must be job creating/tax generation project to be competitive.

Amounts
$1 million to $4 million in reimbursement grant funding; 50% match required

Industrial Sites Reuse Program (ISRP)

PA DCED

Uses
Environmental assessment and remediation costs on PA brownfields and/or previously utilized buildings.

Additional Info
An eligible public entity must own the land at the time of remediation to be eligible for a grant. Loans are available to private developers. Developers can be grant eligible with a cooperation agreement and title agreement with an eligible applicant. Certain classes of cities and municipalities and/or targeted redevelopment areas are eligible.

Amounts
Up to $200,000 for assessment and $1 million for remediation, or 75% of total eligible project cost, whichever is less

Local Share Account (LSA)

Commonwealth Financing Authority

Uses
Projects in the public interest. Projects that improve the quality of life of citizens in the community. Eligible projects must be owned and maintained by an eligible applicant or a nonprofit organization.

Tourism Grants

CAEDC is also Cumberland County’s designated destination marketing organization. Tourism efforts by the non-membership Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau aim to attract business and leisure visitors, as well as meetings, conventions, and events to Cumberland Valley, generating visitor volume and spending. The organization promotes Cumberland Valley as a tourist destination, enhances the visitors’ experience, and encourages overnight stays. Funding for destination marketing efforts comes from a county lodging tax assessed on each overnight stay in Cumberland Valley.

From 2010-2023, CAEDC has awarded $2.3 million in grants to 204 projects representing heritage, cultural, agricultural, and experiential tourism.

Tourism Product Development Grant

Eligible applicants can apply for $25,000 – $250,000 in grant funding for soft product development and asset product development projects that increase visitation to Cumberland Valley or enhance the visitor experience in a measurable way. Organizations can only have one open Tourism Product Development Grant OR one open Tourism Recovery Grant at a time.

Tourism Recovery Grant

Eligible applicants can apply for $2,500 – $10,000 in grant funding for purchase of equipment, marketing or advertising to new audiences, development of new experiences or deferred maintenance projects that maintain or increase the number of products, experiences and services that draw overnight visitors to Cumberland Valley. Organizations can only have one open Tourism Product Development Grant OR one open Tourism Recovery Grant at a time.

Destination Sales Grant

Eligible applicants can apply for $10,000 – $100,000 in grant funding for event expenses including bid fees, facility and shuttle rentals, and marketing and advertising to support overnight group travel to Cumberland Valley.
