CAEDC Welcomes New Economic Development Director

Mechanicsburg, Pa – The Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC) welcomes Greg Welker as its new Economic Development Director, effective Monday, July 1, 2024.

Greg joins CAEDC after spending nine years at Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), most recently serving in the role of Director of Commonwealth Financing Authority Programs Division.

CAEDC Executive Director, Janet Anderson said “we’re thrilled to welcome Greg to CAEDC in this role of Economic Development Director. Greg’s experience at DCED will provide CAEDC with knowledge and skills we need to support our organizational goals.”

The role of the Economic Development Director is to create and implement strategies to grow Cumberland County to include business expansion, retention and attraction. Other responsibilities include supporting CAEDC’s redevelopment and reuse strategy through the Real Estate Collaborative (REC), oversight of CAEDC’s workforce initiative for the retention of local businesses and prospective business relocation, and leveraging of public funding programs and solutions to aid Cumberland County business growth.

Greg joins CAEDC’s economic development side of the organization, lead by CAEDC Executive Director, Janet Anderson, and Economic Development Specialist, Griffin Means, who joined CAEDC earlier this year.

CAEDC is Cumberland County’s lead economic development agency charged with leveraging and promoting Cumberland Valley’s economic development and tourism assets to drive growth, create jobs and improve the quality of life.
