Real Estate Collaborative LLC Enters into Agreement to Purchase Carlisle’s Frog Switch Property

MECHANICSBURG, PA (September 10, 2024)

The Real Estate Collaborative (REC) LLC, an affiliate of the Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC), created REC FS LLC to enter into an agreement to purchase the former Frog Switch property in Carlisle, PA, for redevelopment purposes. The transaction includes the purchase of the entire 26.71 acres.

Redeveloping the site will provide a public benefit by improving the environment and quality of life in Cumberland County.

The purchase agreement provides for a due diligence and equipment removal period, with closing expected to occur by the end of May 2025.

REC Chairman Andrew Notarfrancesco said, “This is a significant opportunity for the REC and the Carlisle Community. We are committed to the transformation of the site and creating a landmark opportunity for redevelopment. The future of this site is incredibly bright. I want to extend our thanks for the Frog Switch ownership and senior management team who have be an integral piece in aligning the site for redevelopment.”

The Frog Switch Manufacturing Company announced its intention to close the facility in July 2023 after being in business for 125 years.
