SmartAsset Ranks Cumberland County Top 10 in Purchasing Power & Median Income

Cumberland County ranked in the top 10 of a recent SmartAsset study that aimed to find the places where average living expenses are most affordable to the people who live there. To find these places, purchasing power was calculated by determining the weighted cost of living as a percentage of median income. The top locations were those with the highest median income relative to the cost of living. With a median income of $65,544 (6th in the state) and a cost of living at $39,051, Cumberland County has a purchasing power index of 63.33, ranking it 5th in the Commonwealth.
