A Child’s Eyes

Total Investment – $325,000

Program Used – Community Development Block Grant

A Child’s Eyes recently received a $70,000 Community Development Block Grant through CAEDC that allowed them to move to a bigger store and offer a larger selection. When they opened in 2002, A Child’s Eyes focused primarily on children’s eyewear. With their new expansion, they began offering adult and sport eyewear as well.

A Child’s Eyes proprietor, Danielle Crull, or Miss Danielle as she’s affectionately known by her clients, is the only Master Optician (from the American Board of Opticianry Master-Certified Optician) in the Harrisburg area and is the only one in the country who specializes in fitting infants through teens.

She chose the Mechanicsburg area for her business because of the centralized location. As an independent optical shop, clients can bring a prescription from their doctor and find a large selection of children’s frames, that other stores can’t match.

Their new location on 4705 E. Trindle Rd. in Mechanicsburg opened in April 2016 with a unique and fun atmosphere for children. Inside you’ll find toys and a play area where little ones can enjoy their visit. The new shop also has a section for sports and performance eyewear, as well as adult frames.
