Back to list September 10, 2014Cumberland Valley projects awarded grantsAlmost $4.5 million in Commonwealth Financing Authority grants were awarded to four projects in Cumberland County, said state Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland, York). A spokeswoman for the state Department of Community and Economic Development said the entire list of CFA-approved projects will be released in the coming days. “Each of these projects will improve transportation flow or encourage the use of clean energy vehicles in the area,” Vance said. “I’m pleased the Commonwealth Financing Authority saw the importance of each of these projects to the quality of life in central Pennsylvania.”The projects receiving grants are:• $1.9 million for transportation improvements for a 49.8-acre, residential and commercial community in Summerdale, including pedestrian facilities.• $1.4 million for construction of a connector road between York and Trindle roads in South Middleton Township• $767,740 to construct a liquid-natural-gas fueling station at United Parcel Service’s Mechanicsburg location.• $400,257 to install a new public compressed-natural-gas station at the current clean energy liquefied-natural-gas station in Middlesex Township.
