Marketing

As part of CAEDC, the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau is the driving force behind marketing the area as a travel destination to visitors. We seek to inspire travel, enhance the visitors’ experience, and promote overnight stays. We develop products and assets that motivate travel and we create travel resources to help visitors find things to do in the Valley.

Tourism Sales & Marketing Grants

The Tourism Sales & Marketing Grant is designed to help partners enhance the visitor experience and increase tourism to Cumberland Valley through a rolling, competitive matching funds program.

Grants awarded in 2019 include:

1794 The Whiskey Rebellion
Creation of 90-second and 30-second videos to showcase the restaurant and enhance marketing efforts (Award amount: $2,500)

Allenberry Resort
Registration to Hill Country Grand Opening, pull-up banner, and outdoor and corporate team-building activities brochure (Award amount: $686)

Amani Festival
Printing of Save the Date postcards that were distributed to out-of-market locations to promote the festival. (Award amount: $637.50)

Appalachian Trail Museum
Assist with the cost to design, fabricate, and install a highly-engaging 3D scale model of the AT with interpretive signs. (Award amount: $10,000)

Carlisle House B&B
Reprint rack card and distribute at 2 PA Rest Areas and 4 PA Turnpike plazas (Award amount: $2,018)

Comfort Inn PA Turnpike Carlisle
Creation of 90-second and 30-second videos to showcase the hotel and increase overnight travel to Cumberland Valley (Award amount: $2,500)

Eye Candy Accessories
Tradeshow attendance, flyer printing, and Facebook advertising (Award amount: $3,883)

Fashion Archives and Museum of Shippensburg University
Support the redesign of their website (Award amount: $2,500)

Grand Illusion Hard Cider
Support the creation of a 2-minute video, pull-up banner, bow flag, and tablecloth (Award amount: $2,920)

High Hotels
CMCA Showcase registration(Award amount: $2,000); SYTA Conference registration (Award amount: $1,025); Facebook advertising to promote ski packages (Award amount:  $1,800)

Historic Carlisle, Inc
Installation of an historic marker on High Street (Award amount: $897); design and printing of revised brochure to include new markers (Amount: $869.78)

Microtel Inn & Suites
Printing of 30,000 rack cards and one-year distribution at four Turnpike plazas (Award amount: $1,641.51)

Midway Bowling Center
Support marketing activities that will increase awareness of Midway’s new offerings including video production, photoshoot, brochure printing and distribution (Award amount: $3,175)

Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce
Marketing efforts to promote the Beer & Wine Festival include videography, photography, Facebook advertising, and billboards (Award amount: $918.75)
