In 2019, CAEDC awarded over $500,000 in Tourism Product Development Grants. Tourism Product Development comprises those experiences, activities, and products that are specifically provided for the visitor and community.
These grants are designed to:
- Increase the number of products, experiences, and services available for visitors and residents.
- Grow the number of visits, length of stay and spending by visitors.
- Improve the profitability of tourism businesses.
- Keep Cumberland Valley competitive with other destinations.

Midway Bowling Center, Carlisle, received a $100,000 Tourism Product Development Grant from CAEDC to assist with the installation of a large outdoor patio featuring a sand volleyball court, four bocce courts, seating for a minimum of 100 guests, fire pits, outdoor lighting and heaters, planters and a mural.
Desperate Times Brewery, Carlisle, received a $7,100 Tourism Product Development Grant from CAEDC to help create an outdoor beer garden that would offer a large, comfortable seating area open from spring through fall.
