Back to list September 16, 2014 Cumberland County Awarded Five Grants from Commonwealth Financing Authority CUMBERLAND VALLEY, PA (September 16, 2014) – On September 9th, 2014, the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) met to consider a variety of grant applications, including Multi-Modal Transportation Fund (MTF) applications. The CFA awarded three MTF grants and two Alternative Clean Energy (ACE) grants to projects in Cumberland County. The CFA is a semi-independent authority within Pennsylvania composed of representatives of the Governor’s Office, other agencies in the administration, and a designee from each legislative caucus. DCED houses and staffs the CFA to a great extent. The MTF program was created as a result of Act 89 of 2012 – what is known as the “transportation funding package.” The awarded Cumberland County grant projects include: Multi-Modal Transportation Fund: Shippensburg University Foundation Multimodal Connector Road and Transportation Improvements $590,626 Cumberland County Industrial Development Authority (CCIDA) Summerdale Transportation Improvements $1.9 million Cumberland County Industrial Development Authority (CCIDA) York/Trindle Connector Road $1.4 million Alternative Clean Energy Grants: Clean Energy, Inc.
