Interested parties, including the Shippensburg Chamber of Commerce and the Shippensburg Mayor, are invested in moving Shippensburg forward and seeking input on what the community is looking for in their town. Regarding the February meeting, Mayor Bruce Hockersmith shared, “I’m looking to form a partnership to move Shippensburg in a positive way and to improve the quality of life for those who are interested and are willing to invest.” CAEDC will be facilitating the discussion at this initial meeting. “Shippensburg is one of our growing communities and we are happy to play a role in the planning and advancement of the town,” said Mary Kuna, CAEDC Business Attraction Manager. “Our hope is that key players come to the table to share their vision for the town and at the end of the initial meeting we have a feeling for what the local citizens and community members would like to see and who will be leading this effort.” About CAEDC CAEDC is Cumberland County’s authorized agency charged with leveraging and promoting Cumberland Valley’s economic development and tourism assets to drive growth, create jobs and improve the quality of life.
